I can’t remember when art was not a part of my life … my refuge, my muse, my friend. I work primarily in metal and warm glass to create jewelry.
I began metalsmithing in college after taking an unplanned class in jewelry making that changed my focus in the medium I worked with. I love to combine glass and metal, contrasting light and opacity in a single piece. My focus is to create jewelry that tells a story. My jewelry is informed by my love of nature. I have dabbled in many mediums and this practice is reflected in my designs and the objects I use to create jewelry.
I have completed several university level metal art classes and numerous workshops taught by professionals in my field. My art continues to evolve in new directions.
I instruct silversmithing, both privately and at several locations in the community and currently head the team of jewelry instructors at Pioneer Craft House in Salt Lake City, UT. I recently founded the Metal Arts Guild of Utah, to bring together fellow silversmiths in the community.
