Our campus is closed until further notice.

Students who are currently in a class will be offered substitute time when classes convene again, or a refund for remaining days left in their session. Students enrolled in upcoming classes will be notified by their teacher when we reopen and when the new class dates are determined. If there are conflicts with the new dates for the class session you registered for, we can offer you a refund or can accept your payment as a donation. Welcome To Pottery

Interested in learning pottery or are you looking for a class to improve your skills? You’ve come to the right place! Our class sessions are continually running 5-days a week. Beginner to advanced students welcomed. Classes include instruction for all the basic steps to finish pottery pieces, including wheel throwing, hand building, use of pottery tools, etc. Open lab times are available for students to practice their skills (see below). Private and group classes are also available. We have a great community at our studio and hope you’ll find a home here for your creativity. ​

COURSE TUTORS

PETE BRINGHURSTDepartment Head
Pete has a BS from Southern Utah University (SUU) in Ceramics and Sculpture. After graduating he taught at SUU. Pete has 15 years experience in the ceramic arts and is excited to be apart of the Salt Lake art community.
ROBYNN WHITINGCourse Tutor
Robynn started creating ceramics at Pioneer Craft House in 2017. Her passion is making functional pottery for the home. Most of Robynn’s pieces are created on the wheel and then carved with a delicate touch. She also loves hand building to get that one of a kind look.
STEVE BROWNCourse Tutor
Steve recently became a Teacher/Volunteer member of the PCH pottery team. He is best known for his fun sense of humor, positive attitude and teaching skills offering a “Hands On” approach for beginning potters.
Steve teaches beginner wheel throwing classes and Private Lessons scheduled at the Pioneer Craft House and can’t wait for you to sign up!
JEANNIE AWESOMECourse Tutor
Jeannie has worked as a ceramics teacher for over 4 years at the Open Classroom elementary, and has over 4 years as a studio technician in a high production ceramic school, firing their gas reduction kiln, formulating glazes and teaching adults pottery. She is excited to be part of our team of instructors here at Pioneer Craft House. Jeannie is super passionate about everything ceramics and is eager to share her passion and knowledge with anyone interested! Her personality promotes an easy going, creative and exciting environment in the classroom. ​
